At 5:31 Tom fails to give way at the pedestrian crossing that reckless bastard.:D
And he keeps riding where the overfilled diesels spill their fuel on the road. :wasntme:
On a motorbike it doesn't matter whether you are in the right or wrong when you are arguing from the gutter waiting for the Ambo's.
Ride safe boys and girls.

Well, that's one way to gum up a decent Matchless engine, Tommy boy!!

That brought back some memories :D
I remember taking my first bike test, the instructor gave me a route to follow which I did. When I returned and had answered the highway code questions, he said I'd failed for traveling too quickly around the test route.
I didn't know they had observers planted at various points watching your every move :D

If my detective work is right, looks like it was filmed up near Merseyside? Could be wrong though..

I like the closing comment.
"Remember, if you use your bike correctly it can give you great pleasure".

Pity they were told to ride in the gutter :(

Must be a Triumph riders thing, but I seem to be more like Tom's friend lol.

Tom seems very 'wooden' and just not a natural. I'd bet as soon as he could afford a car, he ditched the bike.

Also, he's riding and mostly indicating to the right or with his right hand, but the bike continues with it's forwards movement, seemingly without loss of momentum despite his hand not being on the throttle

Yes, I also noticed that, the sound was obviously dubbed in later.

The so-called "dead man's throttle". No return spring. The throttle had to be closed by the rider. Not at all uncommon on older motorcycles.
Still lots of Matchy & AJ singles about in the historic motor cycle hobby. They were the "cloth cap commuter" in the UK. The working man's transport in the days when few had or could afford cars.
Love the hand signals. The "about to slow down" or "patting the dog" was illegal here.

Why? Was there an assumption motorists would be too stupid to bother to know what it meant? Because that's likley i reckon.
Dead man's throttle = cruise control !

A lot of that was filmed in the NW London area, I even recognised some of the places as that's where I grew up!!!
If you want to have a look at Google Street View & see how much the area has changed, matey boy stops to get his news paper in 'Rayners Lane'. The car garage is at the junction of Rayners Lane, Warden Ave & Alexandra Ave and the camera angle is looking south. :D
You'll see that most of the buildings are the same but the garage became a Tesco mini-supermarket a few years ago.

Thanks - I thought the power station in the background at about 2.30 in was Bold Power Station. Just the way the chimneys looked, and the shape of the cooling towers - and the time frame was right - it would have been about 5 years old when this was filmed. I'm not from that area, just a bit of nerd when it comes to all things power - particularly old coal fired stations.:) As I mentioned - I could be wrong (and I am by the sounds of it:D)
Cheers - Gav.

You might still be correct on that one, as I said 'MOST' of it was filmed... ;) Off the top of my head, I can't think of any cooling towers in the area, so those scenes may well have been shot elsewhere.
Another location for you:
The scene with the Copper & the railway viaduct, that was shot at the junction of Elliot Drive, Welbeck Road & Scott Crescent... :D

Nope... I've found the cooling towers and it was all filmed in NW London (Harrow & Wembley). The cooling towers were on the industrial area around the Harlesden / Acton / Park Royal area.
2:00 - Whitton Avenue West.
3:08 - Jn Elliot Drive, Welbeck Road & Scott Crescent.
3:51 - Jn Rayners Lane and Clitheroe Ave.
4:03 - You can see the railway arches from 3:08 above, in the background.
5:25 - Jn Rayners Lane & Alexander Ave (As mentioned before)
7:54 - They are turning out of Wyld Way (Wembley) onto the Harrow Road.
I like local history stuff, so for me I've quite enjoyed looking at that video... The missus got quite excited about it too as she grew up around there.
