Can anyone make comment on cargo liners? I finally pick up the D4 today and want to order something to protect the cargo area.
My options so far are UK Custom Covers, or Hatch Bag.
Both these companies make canvas/plastic liners for an exact fit for the discos.
Can anyone comment or make another suggestion?
Cheers

I think Epic is wanting something to protect the sides as well, but here is a link to one of the site vendors:

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 TD5 CUSTOM BOOT LINER MAT DOG GUARD 1997-2004 003 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LAND-ROVER-DISCOVERY-2-TD5-CUSTOM-BOOT-LINER-MAT-DOG-GUARD-1997-2004-003-/310420407533?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item48467f84ed)
This is the one I'm going for when purse recovers (damn doggy dental this week $330!). Mutts like to put paws up on the edges so this should protect them though thats D2 of course (though I see you already looked at their D4 option). Yes the shipping is a killer but the local options have only the floor part and are close to the price you pay for the UK one with the shipping

I have lined mine with black corflute cut and bent to fit, including sides. Does a good job, cheap as chips and just make new one when needed. :BigThumb:

ARB sell one called Proform for about $120. It has a lip round the sides of about 30mm. Been god for me on both my D3 and now my D4.

I've been thinking about getting one of these. The only drawback for me is that they can't be rolled-up to one side for impromptu use of a 3rd row seat.

Those hatchbags are a beautifully finished product though...

Do you think they'd be better than the custom cover ones? They are about $250 delivered I think.

I have this cargo guard or dog hair guard, whatever LandRover call it, had it for over a year. I also have the heavy rubber mat.

Firstly I can't remember how much it was but it wasn't cheap. Well designed? Not really. Suction cups to hold the sides up? No access to the tie down points. Nothing to hold it up when the back seats are up.

I actually had mine modified & it attaches to all 3 head rests. I also had press studs installed to hold it up on the sides instead of the suction cups. I'll take a photo tomorrow & put it on.

Rob - I have the same one from LR. I got it for my D3, so it would be about 5.5 years old - and still doing the job.

Also be warned, don't use the suction caps on tinted windows.:wasntme::eek:

I bought the cheaper of the two eBay rubber mat options that Gary listed for the D3 and it gives good protection but is slippery so everything slides around in the back.
So I wouldn't recommend that option if anyone is looking for a rubber mat, maybe the other more expensive one is better?

cheers,
Terry

Not sure, they look like more readily wipeable material for doggy gorbies versus simple marine canvas on the other... both nmight protect well whereas one may retain style/appearance better whilst doing it..

Decisions..

This from hatchbag;

We do ship to Australia on a regular basis using FedEx International.

Not cheap at £65.00 GBP – BUT we can refund 20% VAT (UK Sales Tax) on the goods part of the order.

You can order on-line – there an Australia option in the address section – having input your address click through to the next page of the order – check your “shopping cart” and the shipping cost will have updated.

Please not that row 3 seats in the Disco 2 are folded and not in use with HatchBag fitted.

Thank you for your enquiry
So by the time I do my order (107gbp for rear plus, and tailgate liner) minus 20 % 86GBP plus 65GBP = $230 odd AUD delivered, versus, around $160 for the other delivered from UK custom covers...

Thought that I would post a picture or 2 of the boot liner that I ended up with. I chose the hatchbag one as it maybe the most sense in both quality and versatility. I ordered the second row seat split as well as the tailgate liner. It was an easy install and it works great. It's plenty dirty already so it's served it purpose well.

I have a similar version in my Golf. I fixed the sliding by going to Clark Rubber and buying an appropriately sized sheet of that anti slip mat. I then cut it to the shape of the mat and used contact adhesive to fix it in place.

This works really well and it has been 4 1/2 years now.

I toyed with the idea of putting back the rigid load liner as well at the hatchbag. It is very grippy but the lip at the front makes it difficult to load my gear. I find that it's not too slippery though. I carry a bit of gear in there so there's not too much room for things to slip about
