Hi Together,

After our 5000k + trip to Mutawinji, Paro Darling, Expedition, Eurimbila and Deep Water NP and frequent use of my recently installed Llams the suspension on my D3 TDV Air suspension started to squeak especially in off road height and when moving steering wheel and during very slow driving any idea of the cause?

Cheers

Steve

I can't find the post but IIRC Sniegy suggested worn ARB bushes.

I find the suspension gets noisy when I have been off road. I think it is dust/debris in the bags. I find if I put the vehicle into extended mode, and give everything underneath a good spray, the noise goes away pretty quickly.

Admiral, ok great tip and we have been in a lot of dust etc. so I can just use the pressure cleaner there?

Mine started chirping like a canary following our drive on the Birdsville Development Rd as it had plenty of wet muddy sections, I think the fine silt gets into all the suspension bushes incl the ARB ones. It did not come from the actual airbags, I had a small water spray bottle handy to put out any spot fires under my car. I used that to help lubricate the bushes and eventually the chirps disappeared.
I'll see if they are back next time I head off road!

I don't believe there is anything you can hit on the bag/shock assy that would be hurt by high water pressure, but to be safe you could back off the pressure, and flood the area. I use a common garden hose. Operating the suspension up and down a few times, seems to flush a lot of rubbish out.

Ok, gave it the pressure treatment yesterday and a lot of the squeaking definetly has gone may repeat it again with the hose today.

Thanks for the tips guys

Steep learning curve for someone who just drove cars and brought them to the next mechanic in case of any issues to actually starting solving the issues myself (but very satisfactory)

Mine started squeaking at about 160K and had the front lower control arms replaced at 180K due to worn bushes. The sway bar bushes will squeak if dusty as well.
