Central locking alarm?

Morning all
I have access to P38 to canabilise for spares. My vehicle does not have any key fobs to lock the vehicle so I need to do it with the key every time which is a pain.
What would I need to remove from the other vehicle which has 2 key fobs to ensure that they worked on mine and is there any difficulty with what I have proposed?

Fantom Marty has just done this. He will be able to give some tips. From what I understand It's relatively easy but not quick or completely DIY. Swapping BECM and recoding computers was a outsourced part of the job.

there are a couple of options:

1. the door lock has a specific bar code that goes with the original keys.
If you get the cannibalised locks with the working key fobs and put them in your vehicle, you will need to have the BECM unlocked and recoded to recognise the new barcode. You then have to resync the keyfob with the BECM (put the key in the lock and turn it while pressing the button etc)

A LR dealer with a Test book may be able to unlock the BECM and recode it to accept the barcode numnber from the replacement lock.

2. Second option is to take the BECM from the spares car along with the door lock and transplant both into your vehicle.
Note however: the odometer reading stored in the transplanted BECM will be transferred to the odo

The car will not start until the 3 or 4 digit code stored in the EFI ecu (known as the EMS) is written into the memory of the transplanted BECM. For this you again need either a test book or a "mate" with a Faultmate which is not locked to a specific VIN.

If you do have such a "mate", then an email to Blackbox Solutions (Faultmate designers and manufacturers) may secure you some instructions for going via Option 1 above.

if you send me both bottom boards from the becm's i will unlock them and add in the remote codes so they both work on your car.
the alarm reciever (under the front of the rh rear parcel shelf) may also need to be swapped (may be a different frequency).
the key blades can be swapped (if you have them) or all the locks (not difficult) any questions 0421 509083

As the other Dave mentioned I've just been through same thing but a little more complex as I purchased complete set of new door handles, Locks, Ignition barrell, keyfobs,alarm reciever. only to discover set was for LH drive car however after some dissmantling and reassembly was able to make everything fit. Then sent off becm, keyfob & reciever to be coded to match.
It was then a case of reinstall & programe keyfob ems. Sounds more complicated than it really is but if you need to ask just PM me & I'll give you my mobile.

Mate, where did you purchase that complete set kit that you installed ?
Might be a silly question but what was the kit called so as i know what to refer to when I enquire from the supplier ?
