Thought I'd tell you all of my experience with my D3. Bought the old girl with 205ks and the auto had been rebuilt at 150ks through Trivets Sydney via a contractor somewhere in Alexandria at a cost of $7k+. Had a shudder when I bought it with a few days left under the autos warranty, so they fixed her, or thats what I thought.
Forward to 240ks with a auto service in between and she's stuffed. I spoke with the first rebuilder and they said that they only replace parts associated with error codes registered in the box, so what does one get for $7k at this establishment?
Be very careful people who you place your trust and money with. I'm placing my trust and money where I know for a fact that the job gets done right and with your best interests at heart, Graeme Cooper, St Peters.
Although I've had to refinance a few things, Ive also bought a 09 Defender ute for running around and providing my Chiro with extra income.Just a sharer and carer I am.
Look forward now to some trouble free miles in both the "big girl" and the new defer.
AUTO OIL NEEDS CHANGING AT 50K INTERVALS, NO EXCUSES.

A&B autos in Melbourne or ZF themselves are the only one I would trust. $7K is exe for a fix not rebuild.

I doubt GC would do gearbox rebuilds in house...

They don't, they source them from Melbourne. And I was told that ZF will not supply outside of the trade, which is fair enough given the complexities of this auto.

ZF will not supply the parts outside trade but they do do rebuilds themselves but usually not exchange units. Looks like you are getting an A&B unit which is good. :BigThumb:

I hope so this time around!
