On my D3 when i plug the trailer in the lights flash the one with LEDS on the old one with normal bulbs it's fine in told this is common and due to a low voltage current being run. Is there an easy fix as the LED lights are water proof and i don't really want to change them. Thanks for reading and for any suggestions

There must be a thousand posts on this - if you do a search you will find plenty of information - you need a PulseBuster or something similar.

The link below is to an album with at three files near the bottom related to the LED flasher concern. Within the pdf file are a number of links, most of them back to AULRO providing a number of solutions.

It is a good idea to have the LED's working correctly as that means your 3 knows that a trailer is connected, (the little green trailer symbol lights up when the signal lights are used), plus other systems react appropriately as well.

Hi.
As others have said there is a raft of threads and posts on the topic.
You can buy special add on adaptors etc to fix it.
Had the same problem with my Volvo when I fitted LED lights on a boat trailer. Cheap fix was to go to Jaycar or Dick Smith and buy two small bulb units and wire each separately between the left and right indicators and earth terminals inside the trailer plug. The small amount of additional current fixed the problem and it only costs a couple of bucks for the parts. The plug in indicator bulbs from behind the instrument panel of an old Commodore or similar will also work.
Cheers,
