Hello together,

Friend of mine converted all interior lights of his Prado to led lights which increased his light output substantially is there something similar for the disco 3 ?

A search did not yield any results.

Thanks

Steve

Your best option is to drive in a Defender for a while then when you get back into the disco the lights will blind you ! LOL

You can buy LED replacements for your interior lights from Jaycar. The higher output LED's are expensive though. I have converted everything apart from the door courtesy lighting at this stage

Just ordered a set of 19 LEDs from the US through eBay for $58 AUS for my 2012 RRS. Seems like pretty good value. Sold as a complete internal replacement set for the 2010-2012 RRS. The same US company seems to have set for all models.

Inc postage? Not bad...

Do the LEDs save significant energy?

Yes includes postage. Re energy saving ... the supplier says that they use less power because they are LED. I took a punt and will wait and see what my money gets me. I will post a report when they arrive and I install them.

I got some small bulb replacement LEDs from supercheap for about $7 each and they are well and truly bright enough.

I bought this kit for my P38A. eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/360490742472'ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_7408wt_1163)

I'll update this thread when they are fitted.

The punt did not work out well. 1 full set of internals and I have tried fitting all the major internal lights with the new LED’s. The only LED that worked is the boot light. The rest e.g. map lights etc, while the original bulbs look the same as the boot light, the replacement LED’s do not work. I have emailed the supplier and will see what happens… You live and learn!

X2

LED (Light Emiting Diode) diodes only let electrons go one way
Try turning them around

I have these LED's in mine, replaced the lot about 2 years ago. Alltronix were very good, I recently ordered a few more from them after one failed in the drivers door light and they came post free after I said they were to replace a broken one. The difference inside the car was amazing, it's *much* brighter

I got mine from Hongkong ( ebay) and it's worked a treat. Cost was less than $4.00 delivered. similar sort of thing to what you'll see on the following page.

12-SMD T10 INTERIOR DOME DOOR LIGHT 12V WHITE LED PANEL on eBay! (http://compare.ebay.com.au/like/400325789143?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes)

Mine has 12 leds and lights up my cab like daylight. They have adapters that make then fit almost anything.
