Thinking about treating the disco to a 12V air compressor. Looking at the Dr Air range of compressors as they got reasonably good reviews in that 4WD Action compressor test.
Was looking at the ProFlo 150 but is just toooooo big.
ProFlo 75 should mount where the windscreen washer bottle would normally reside (disco 1), anyone see any issues with mounting it there???

Would a heat sheild or similar be a good idea or even a must to protect it from tubo heat?

Ok, so what does one do for a Windscreen bottle? :)

The smaller unit should fit near brake booster area just fine on a D1...

I'm fitting a blue tongue into the area in my D2. No turbo but still shielding it as part of the mounting.

Hi Tombie,

My other half works at an auto store that stock them so I will be getting it at her staff price. I dont want to divulge that info here, but its under $150.

Washer bottle; I have seen D2's with the second battery mounted where the washer bottle is, where do they mount their washer bottle, or, where is it from factory?
I was thinking of downsizing to something a little smaller, as a) it currently leaks, and 2) its FREAKING massive!!!

My plans were to hook it upto a small tank with pressure sw etc etc, not sure if thats benneficial or not, but at least I have it there for lockers or whatever pops up in the future.

The bluetongue looks like a solid little fella! As tho its designed to be mounted in the engine bay, the ProFlos are meant to be kept inside the car judging by the naff carry bag. Reckon it will survive under bonnet temps? I will more then likley have the bonnet open when pumping to aid air flow.

Mine is a V8 but I have a current model ARB compressor mounted on the inner guard in front of the brake master cylinder.

As for a new washer bottle, I use one I removed frome a Daihatsu Terios. It is the standard looking small cube thing but has two pumps. One for windscreen, one for rear window and the headlights stay dry.
The pumps are interchangable so used the Land Rover pumps so the wiring is unchanged.
The bracket in the Terios is welded in so I grabbed one from a Navara I think. The brackets are very common in older commercial vehicles. The one I grabbed just needed minor filing.

I moved mine to accomodate LPG gear.

The D2 washer is right at the front left below the headlight. May be possible to fit one to a D1
