Hopefully I dont jinx myself with this one... for the info of others who wander through looking for information:
I have been chasing the dreaded 3 amigos (ABS, TC and a third warning light) on our 2001 TD4 Manual for a couple of years.
We changed all the wheel speed sensors following a code from the ABS ECU (A Teeves Mk 20 in this case). No Dice - the new ones kept throwing codes. I ended up purchasing a proper scan tool from Bearmarch which led us to believe the ABS ECU was faulty as I could trace propper signals from all wheel sensors right up to the ECU inputs. So we replaced the ECU with another from a wreck. Still throwing wheel sensor codes!!! A long story short it seems the new aftermarket sensors have one pin shorted to the case and this was the wrong pin for the ECU. We ended up insulating the sensors from their mounts with heatshrink around them and no more wheel speed codes :). However it was now throwing G sensor plausibility codes . Importing a new G sensor and replacing (it lives under the centre console bin) and all is now good again.
If anyone wants to borrow a proper scan tool enabled for all FL1's around the Wagga region drop me a PM.
Cheers - Pat
