Is there anything special about windscreen wipers on the Perentie Landrovers?

I imagine there are a couple of parts that make up the whole here, rubbers, rubber holder and arm.

I am told there is a shortage and cannibalisation is in place for windscreen wipers!

LT95s are also meant to be a problem.

I'd think that there would be after market suppliers of the gears and bearings? Is there something in short supply that would stop you from rebuilding a military LT95?

As far as I am aware no and no. The wiper setup is standard, same as county. All gears, bearings etc are still available. My guess is that they are not buying any more new parts and having to cannabilise what they have.

no across the board, parts availability depends on how good your units part monkeys are at banana theiving AND if you are slated for gay wagens or not

once your unit is slated for gaywgens your priority for landrover parts drops.

ok, so County wipers can be obtained from where? Are they the same as Defender wiper arms?

and you say no probs with gbox parts.

I don't believe that the availability of parts in the system as a whole has anything to do with Gwagens. I am getting this from people who are meant to know, the people who manage the fleet as a whole not looking from anyone particular units perspective. Yes I'd say there will be a reluctance to spend too much on spares on a fleet that is being replaced. Still I'd thought that keeping the fleet going for another 2.5 to 3 years would not be jeopardised for the cost of windscreen wipers.

When I hear things like we are the only ones using Isuzu engines and try to make that out to be an issue, I start to worry that perhaps the message is being blown out of proportion to let us know how hard their lot in life is:o

I seriously doubt there is any shortage on parts. I just got a full set of spring bushes for a 6x6 and if anything was in short supply I reckon they would be. Most other parts are straight off a 110 County. I've found British 4WD to be very helpful.
