Ok so I am driving along down the Geelong to Melb freeway and its late and dark and all of a sudden a racket starts like some one is on the roof having a party! So I pull over to see if I could join in and there was no sign - of the cause, so off I go and sure enough, the bugger gets back on at about 90kph and goes nuts! We I pull over again and nothing to be found, so I get home s-l-o-w-l-e-y, I get out a torch, turn on the shed lights and can't find the cause. Anyhow, next morning I am out crack of dawn looking for the cause and Bingo! The centre of the upper windscreen rubber/plastic trim is bowed up, Ok no probs I push it down and all is good. - Until - I am off interstate (flying) and of course the D4 is never let to rest as wifey and clan don't want to go anywhere in the Honda, cause Dad's D4 (Fam Fav) is doing nought. Now she is driving home from Melb, (this is almost a replay) and it starts again and she freaks out, swearing someone is bashing on the door, (it is very loud!) she pulls into a petrol station, can't see the issue, asks some one, and they see the bowed windscreen upper trim and they pull it off! And to make things worse they chuck it away. When I ask better half, "why throw it away?" I am informed it was black and ugly! I think to myself take D4 to airport next time! OK so here's the question, is that a warranty claim?? Or has our well meaning petrol station assistant innocently taken away my right for reparation? Any clues if its a known problem?? Does it matter if it is not replaced - rubber trim not wife? -(she's got a few more k's in her yet!) Thanks.

Shouldn't come off. Tell dealer it came off at speed. Should be fixed under warranty. Should make no difference if you have the bit or not. Not sure how it is normally fixed but may need to be put on with a new screen.
Someone on here may have seen a screen replaced and will know.

As above. There's been a few come off at Freeway speeds so warranty shouldn't be an issue.

The mould is fitted to the screen before the urethane is applied and glass is installed
