Help please!
My '96 110 has decided not to park the wipers so i fitted a new park switch and they would not stop wiping!
Did I buy a faulty/incorrect park switch or is it something else?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
AFK

Do they stop when the ignition is turned off?

Would not have thought that a problem in Tassie

I cant talk, its been raining non stop in Melb for about 6 months.

So when the wipers are running, does the wiper switch do anything at all , slow / fasty / intermittent work ???

I had the same prob about 2 months ago and bought a new wiper stork and park switch as I didnt know what was causing it. Wiper stork changed, sill faulty,
changed park switch but bugger of a job as I lost the little clip inside the wiper motor. about 3 hours later all good.

sounds like you still have a faulty park switch - did it come in a blue box ??

Ha ha, yeah it's a ***** of a job. It's never fun pulling a dash apart.
Mine is a Lucas switch, came in a box but when I opened it in the shop I could see marking on the terminals like it had been fitted before. When I mentioned this to the salesperson they just brushed it aside. I reckon it may be faulty. I will try to take it back and have it swapped over.
I'm guessing it's not the stalk as it changes from slow to fast. Intermittent does not work but I guess it would need the park switch to be working to pause.
I did have a chuckle to myself when I realized I was finally fixing the problem after the winter rain!
Cheers,

Had the same problem
Replaced the switch and wipers still no park
Turned out the wire which permanently powers the wiper motor through the park switch has come adrift. From memory it was a connector on the ignition switch that had fallen off. A quick check to see if you have voltge going to the park switch with the ignitin on should tell you if this is the problem.

There is a part on the side of the wiper motor that controls parking - you need to replace that.

I've changed them on a few vehicles before now.

PiTA to get to though!
