What's everyone getting for brake pad and disc usage? With mine I have come up with the following:

Rear brakes - Change pads every 35-40000 km. Change rotors every 70-80000 km.
Front brakes - Change pads and rotors every 60-70000 km.

Obviously this is going to be different for everyone. Today I did the front discs and pads, the car has 75000 km on it and really I should have done it at least 5000 km ago.

The good news is the brake and pad changes on the vehicle are very easy. Once the wheel is off it is 3 bolts per side. Now I know how to do it I think 1-2 hours easy per end.

Cost is quite reasonable I think. Front pads and rotors $315 delivered. Rear pads and rotors $270 delivered. These are non genuine and for a TD4 although the i6 would be similar however front rotors are different.

I had to change the rears at around 70k but the fronts lasted over 100k. The pads were changed not the rotors. The rears must be due again. I've always noticed the first set from new last a long time and the replacements go quicker. Did your rotors need changing or do you do it as a matter of course?

The pads seem to be very soft, my FL2 is always covered in brake dust on the rims.
Soft pads usually lead fast rotor wear as they tend to wear out unevenly and can get grit embedded in them.

Just did them. They do have a min thickness stamped on them but mine had a very bad lip so just changed them anyway.

The FL2 sure does stop well but it goes through pads and discs quick, much like a lot of other modern vehicles I guess.....
