I know this is AULRO, but does anyone know of people interested in Blitz vehicles? I need to sell some things, but don't know where to start.

Hello John,

What breed of blitz; Chev or Ford - long or short wheel base 4WD or 2WD?

There is also the International Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) forum Maple Leaf Up who have a "For Sale or Trade Section" there are lots of Australian members too. Registration is free plus they are a great mob of people too http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15

Kind Regards
Lionel

Hello Diana,

I am trying to limit my knowledge of the CMPs so I can resist their attraction. I have a 1940 Holden Cab Chevrolet MCP truck. The idle thought of maybe getting an updated version of the CMP in 4WD = the International AACO or MK-I or MK-2 or MK-3; was the thing that lured me across to this site. From there it somehow resulted in my getting a number of Series III Land Rovers both ex-Military and Civvy. So I treat the MLU site and things CMP with utmost caution now.

Kind Regards
Lionel

Hi Lionel

I always wonder how the troops in North Africa during WWII drove the Cab 11 & 12 (Monkey face blitz) with such a small amount of footwell so close to the engine.

But still a second class ride is always better than a first class walk. ;)

I'm waiting for Bruce at Ganmain to finish off the resto on his Mk1 Inter. Eventually delivered to him the screens from Firey on the weekend, only took 10 months. :(

Very rare WW2 Chevrolet 17pr gun tractor. I believe that only 8 of these were built in 1944, being converted from the 2pr portee that was by then obsolete.Originally built in 1941.
The conversion involved removing the tilting body and fitting a fixed one and also fitting the chassis mounted PTO winch as fitted to other Chev Gun tractors. there are very few references on the net to this type of truck the nearest I can find is in Australia.
85% restored all the woodwork is new,all the chassis and running gear have been cleaned and painted engine rebuilt, new 12 X 20 tyres, completely rewired, new canvas. The engine starts and ticks over but needs a tune up as it runs rough. The brakes will need overhauling.
If the reserve is met we will give it a final coat of paint in the colour of your choice.
It is road registered with a V5.
See photos for condition but potential buyers are welcome and advised to come and view it as all sales are final. It is stored near Bolton in the North West of England. The auction is for the vehicle as seen in the photos,so it is sold as seen except for the paint.
If you are interested in having this vehicle restoration finished we can undertake all restoration work to mechanics, bodywork and paint. Also we do canvas work in house. Feel free to ask for a quote after winning the auction.

Delivery can be arranged at buyers cost to anywhere in the world please ask for a quote. A deposit or payment in full will have to be paid in advance if we are delivering. Buyers are welcome to pick up and pay cash on collection.
