The (front bumper?) and my dog of a winch bar have four vertical bolts 2ea side. No nuts per se, rather a bar tapped to take each of the 2 bolts. This tapped bar is slid into the rail through very very small holes in the chassis.
Is this is the OEM arrangement? If so how does one get the tapped bar into position, hold it and then screw the bolts in? :(
Please, no one say "with great difficulty". Am already there ;)
Did think might try taping the nut bar to some thin sheet metal and sliding it in to see if I can pick it up that way. ?????????????
Plan B is to drill through the crushable bottom layer, use longer bolts and turn up a couple of spacers to stop "crush".
Ideas would be welcome.
Cheers RF
