The LRSOC (UK) recently appointed me as their Area Representative for Victoria. HELLLPPPP… I am sure that some of the other members are much more knowledgeable but I am happy to give it a go.

As such I would like to get all Series Ones a bit more involved in events, trips, etc. Now, it would be great if every Series One owner in Victoria would be a LRSOC member. However, not everyone is interested in clubs and/or a membership. So if you know someone with a Series One who isn’t a club member, still invite them to come along to events etc.

In fact if you know someone with a Series One I would love to get in touch with them. Can you ask them to contact me? I would just like to know how many there are being restored or on the road. Contact me…

It’s nice to message board meet you, and I hope we can meet in car one of these days. If you want to contact me please find my details below. (I’m using a private email address now, later I will get one from the LRSOC, I will keep you updated).

EVENTS
Series BBQ
I am also member of the LROCV. This weekend is the Series BBQ organized by John Fenner of the LROCV. You don’t have to be a member to come to the BBQ (see details below). I would love to see a couple of Series Ones there. Please come along and lets meet up. Show them that there are plenty of Series Ones on the road (or on a trailer).

Motorclassica Melbourne – Picnic with the Classics
The weekend after is the Picnic event at the Motorclassica show. I have been in touch with the organizers and they would have been happy to have us there as well. However, they needed 8 to 10 cars and it was too short notice to confirm that. So they like us to come by and show some of the Series Ones to the organizers. We are now on their list for next years event.
-Anyone want to go visit (park on the road) and meet with the organizers?
-And who wants to join next year? (You don’t need to commit now)

Happy rovering,

Kris

G'day Kris,
If you are having an event in NE Victoria - let me know I am in Canberra so its not too far! I have a 1950 Model and a 1996 Defender - but it is nice to do trips in the 1950 model and I can sneak down through the Snowies at non-busy times in it as long as I am going to meet other Series Land-Rovers!
Cheers, Mike.
