hi all ive got a suspension question i have just fitted new tjm long travel shocks all round when i go over a speed bump the rear will bounce two or three times my previous ome that i just took off would never move the shocks were primed the fronts dont bounce just the rear i have ome springs
that were fitted at the same time as the origanale shocks which gave the defender about a two inch lift rang the tjms are for a 2inch lift any help would be appreciated allso replaced all suspension bushes with the new super pro but that was before the shocks

the shocks may be too stiff and youre bouncing off of the tyre OR
they forgot to fill them with oil and you have only the gas charge to do the work. While they'll feel nice and working by hand under load the gas heads through the ports massively faster than the oil would.
Stand on the tow bar get a good bounce going and jump off at the top of the cycle, if it moves more than all the way down then back to its normal resting position then the shocks are shot. (for OEM compression/rebound control settings)

The shock valving is wrong for the new coils, thats my guess. You say you fitted OME coils and TJM shocks, most OME coils have a heavy spring rate and your shocks could be for a softer spring rate.
Coils and shocks need to be matched so they work together. I have had adjustable Rancho shocks thinking this would help but no they were useless, they didn't control the bounce at all.
I now have dobinson coils and terrafirma sports +5 shocks that work well for me.
