Hey all,

Installed a traxride dual battery system last weekend. (Awesome piece of kit) Im now putting some aux sockets in the rear. Have run cable through and just trying to decide where/how to mount sockets. Any input would be appreciated. Photo's would be even better.

Cheers

Paul

Hello Paul

Do you have any photos of your battery installation with the traxide isolator. Also what aux battery did you use?

Look forward to seeing peoples solutions in the rear too.

5243052429heres where I put mine - one cig socket and one Hella socket on outside (weather proof ones) - handy for lights or running the fridge outside the car and any other 12v gear. Can also plug in a folding solar panel if necessary to the outside outlet to charge the battery pack. Don't have pics but there are two outlets on the inside, one on each side of the rear door in the panel there for fridge and other gear and one more on a wandering lead. My aux battery system is in the back of the vehicle under the false floor to the right of the drawers. There are 3 x 33amp hour SLA batteries in parallel (or whatever it is that keeps it 12 volt) wired to a separate fuse box also in the back and managed via a Redarc DC/DC charger. I used 3 batteries as it was the only way to have low enough height to fit under the floor. Been there 3 years now with no probs. There is also a 64 watt solar panel on the roof connected to the rear system.

Hi Paul,

Here's my 2 cents. I mounted two waterproof 12v socket outlets behind ladder. Also mounted a 'remote battery terminal outlet' on rear drivers side.

Pics for your info.

Here is how it looks.

Thats awesome and looks great.. However i really wanted at least the first two inside the car. And the thought of drilling holes through panels sends cold shivers down my spine. I might feel differnt after I put the snorkle on which I just bought.

Thanks

Here is my solution, because I like flexibility (and I couldn't bring myself to drill into the outside of my truck!).

My 6B&S come up into the back behind the rear quarter panel, terminated at the blue seas switch, which feeds an Anderson plug on the quarter-panel inside the cabin, and another that goes to the trailer hitch.

I use Anderson patch leads for hella plugs, cigi plugs, etc. When I need a multiple inside, I have a power board with an Anderson plug.

The outside Anderson can charge the camper while towing, run accessories when parked, or recharge the car via solar if needed (separate reg).

Works for me.
