No jokes or puns please.

I came across this and thought someone on here may be interested.

NAUTILUS HORN SUITABLE FOR LAND ROVERS- 139dB (black) (STB-NAUT-LR) - Nippy Normans (http://www.nippynormans.com/products/horns-exclusive/item/nautilus-horn-suitable-for-land-rovers-139db-black-stb-naut-lr)

I've spent too much money at this store this month so I'm not aloud one. :(

My County's horn is pitiful. The Nautilus horn may be the next best thing to a train horn :)

I got one off ebay a while back for around $40 delivered. Awsome horn, very loud.

Yep i have one also but im yet to put it on the disco.
The disco horns are loud as they are but i feel the need to put the wind up some people more often these days.

I needed one when making a sharp left turn with the car trailer on. A motorbike did the same turn but on the inside. I hit the horn button, but, it didn't work. Needed a new relay. Bike rider needed a kick up the backside. :(

What you need is a pair of "Fiamm" autobahn horns,a matched pair, high and low,I have a pair on the 2a and they are loud I can hear them quite well with the truck at full bottle :D got a set of Mixo's on the Rangie they are good as well ;)

I think that they now call the Fiamm Freeway blasters, model 72112, there are some on evilbay.

Go visit a truck wrecker and get a couple of 24" or 30" Grovers to mount on the roof. Than all you need is to organise a 140 psi air supply.

The Nautilus is popular with bike riders. However, be aware of the Chinese fakes on eVilBay.

That's the sort of thing I need for my Boat, find a fishing spot all on your ownsome anchor and within 1/2 you are surrounded by a (SHEEP)dozen boats, this horn would let them know I'm not impressed.

Thanks for the info. I've never heard of those and will have to get one. (These days, most of my education takes place on this site!)

When I first got my County I was taking a girl somewhere and she actually laughed at the standard horn. "this huge load car with a pathetic meep horn ahahahah".

Cruel words that I never forgot. I re-instated my manliness and honour with an air horn. It's loud as. As with most mechanical things, the key to getting a good life out of it is to use it regularly - Which I'm happy to do!

50quid + shipping seems a bit steep though.. I think mine was $40 from a local independent auto store.

I used to know a guy who mounted a horn from a train on his hilux. You would hear it *for kilometers* and it was very amusing sounding it and watching the reaction from passers by.

Not to be a party pooper but whatever you fit, check rules and regs and make sure you aren't about to draw undue attention to yourself...

Hope that link worked. Its a good start. Basically single frequency and volume, under 120dB. Might vary state to state.

What does this Nautilus sound like? A truck, a train? I want something that is going to get road hogs out of the way. Is this the go?
cheers Gerald

Yes, I've had the same experience a few times as well! I can't remember which Land-Rover it was about, or who said it, but I remember the words . . .

Hi,
I have had air horns on my motorcycle since 1968. I think they have possibly saved me from an unavoidable collision with some one intruding on my right of way on about 8 occasions.
One or two of those avoided collisions I judged would have been fatal with out the air horns.
I would feel naked with out them.
cheers

I've had girls laugh at my standard horn a lot........:o
AlanH.

PS. But the horn on the Puma is great. No pathetic "meep meep" for me, it's nice loud PARP sort of noise which lets them know I'm unimpressed.::D
