Can someone tell me the difference between front propshafts FRC4799 and FRC8388? :mad:

They should be the same length, but I think that there is a change in size of uni joints used. There was a change in RRC uni's about the same era.

Yeah there are two different sized uj's for the prop shafts

I came across the different uni joints when I obtained a RRC propshaft for someone else's Disco 1 conversion. It's not that the uni's are any larger in overall size or ability operate at steeper angles, but the cap size. Have a look at Hardy Spicer uni joint catalogs and the 1300 and up series of uni joints. If anything, the newer version might be the go as it should be able to tolerate more articulation than the older version. ( There was a webpage from a german company that makes OE propshafts - I can't recall the name atm - and the two different shafts had the same angle's - 60 degrees, but different stock numbers).

I suppose it depends on what uni's you have in the rear propshaft.
