funny noise on startup, 2012 puma 90

Hi,

Last week I picked up a 2012 90.

For the last 2 days, when I start the car, as in go to II on the ignition to warm the glow plugs, it makes a brief either squirt or schhh noise... does anyone know what would cause that?

Here's what it looks like, previous owner had the side steps, poxy nudgebar and headlight guards put on.

I think your noise is the EGR cleaning it self others can tell you more

Hi,
I have always put it down to the computer adjusting things in preparation for ignition. Switch the ignition to II and get out the car - can you here a constant high pitched tone coming from the engine?

Yes its not as high pitched as when you turn the engine off though.

Ah well, I'll get used to it.
