Hi all

I don't post often so I hope I'm posting this in the right spot if not, feel free to relocate the post.

I've been looking at this National Park, mainly Lemon Tree Flat camp ground. Seems to come up as a quiet spot for camping around x-mas.

However, It says no car touring...which we assumed meant bollards i.e can't camp near car.

I rang up and was told by the Tenterfield Park people that you can camp right beside your vehicle, no bollards etc.

Can anyone who has camped there before confirm this?

Thanks

Returned yesterday after spending a couple of relaxing days on the Severn River.

All in all this place ticks most boxes for me, pleasant camping with fireplaces, plenty of water, nice walking, good swimming and fishing holes on both the Severn and Macintyre Rivers, lots of beautiful river red gums, birds galore etc etc. I'd suggest you take your own firewood although there was a total fire ban over the weekend.

There are two camping areas, both on the Severn, Kookabitta and Lemon Tree. The former, where we camped, is walk in (very near car behind bollards) with Lemon Tree having bollarded areas and some open area which would be on a first in best dressed scenario. I think Lemon Tree is probably nicer but suggest anyone wishing to camp there should look at both as we did. We like camping on our own and that's how we had it ;)

We were visited by sugar gliders, kangaroos and goats, saw a platypus opposite our camp and also saw a lone emu whilst driving around.

I did take some pics but haven't down loaded them as yet. Will put some up in NSW trip reports when done. Feel free to ask any questions.
