A view from the office, 39000 feet over the western Pacific. Makes being up all night worth it. Just ;)

Wow. Maybe more a photo section question, but what camera/settings etc did you need to achieve this?

D200 with 18-35 lens. 5 images at 1 stop intervals blended in HDR Photomatix Pro. I can't remember the exposures off hand but recall the slowest being around 1/30 second or thereabouts as I was balancing the camera on the glareshield and had to wait for the bumps to stop before I hit the shutter.

And here's a sunrise from my archives. About four years ago.
Points to the first person who can work out what's a little bit odd about this sunrise.

You're pointing a rather 'interesting' direction? ;)

What a spectacular image... I've only seen a couple of sunsets from above the clouds but the experience nearly moved me to tears. A sunrise would be amazing.

Yep, a sunrise due South. Not an everyday occurrence.
