Roverlord off road spares

Hi all, I am having my torque convertor rebuilt at present and I received a phone call from the TC place asking if I can bring in the FTC4606

as they have compared the my TC spigot rod to a new TC and there was a variance in thickness. I called in and took note of the tolerances and mine had unacceptable play. I was either get a new FTC4606 or have it sleeved and machined back to specs. (having it sleeved and machine would cost roughly the same as me getting a new replacement)
I know the flex plate had been replaced by the previous owner and now the replacement Flex plate had recently gone.
They informed me they see a lot of this, wear causing the TC to run untrue in the spigot and ruining flex plates.
Now I ask, if it is common are people not bothering to replace the FTC4606 spigot?
So if you flex plates are ripping out often then this could be your problem
I for one have never been asked by a customer to supply one, none of the local major suppliers carry them, Land Rover dealership couldn't supply one. I could import one myself from Land Rover in the UK, but another week of delay getting the D2 back on the road.
After looking up some old contacts in the parts game, I did manage to get a new one here in Aus.
My New transmission oil pump from Land Rover UK just arrived, so at least I can start to work on it.
cheers, Mario
