Hey Guys,

I was a bit over enthusiastic on weekend in a boghole and snapped my steering arm (as you can see in the image)

How do I go about replacing this? Can anyone give me some insight in to the best procedure....

Cheers!

It's easy to replace - unbolt the damper & pop out the two tie rods.

There's a few different upgraded tracks rods you can fit. Many of the LR specialists sell them.
While you are under there, fit the damper to the steering (front) rod to get it out of the way.

Hi f40,
I bent mine a few years back & replaced it with aftermarket one from Les Richmond Automotive in Thomastown Vic. Not cheap but worth every cent when you compare the two together. You will also need 2 new tie rod ends as it is set up different to original. all parts to do job available at L.R.A. Also reyou will require a wheel alignment.

Fairly easy to change, easier to replace tie rods and all. As mentioned, undo the dampner, back off the rod end nuts, shock the knuckle with a hammer and remove. I like to measure beforehand so my alignment is similar, but if your is already busted it's a bit late.

I keep a spare one complete with tie rods cable tied to my cargo barrier set up and ready to go for such instances.

I think I have another spare complete one in the shed. Pm me if I can help.
