i read it is a detuned version of the engine in the new patrol.
looking forward to see them on the track, sounds like they will be physically smaller than the holden/ford, should get some good slipstreaming.

They must have changed the formula for the Supercar as previously it was restricted to Falcon and Commodore based cars. A few years back Chrysler wanted to enter a Hemi V8 300C in the series but were not permitted as the car was not a Holden or Falcon.

So I take the rules for the Super Car formula have changed - as a side issue is the V8 Altima actually sold here??

I do not believe the Supercar formula is particularly relevant - an orphan formula not used anywhere else other than here.

The Altima is coming next year...........

Apparently one of the biggest selling cars in the US.

Replaces the Maxima here, which didn't sell here as well as they (nissan) had hoped.

Can't wait for the V8's next year, should get interesting

Will be interesting to see which teams & drivers are the best at adapting to these new cars.

Probably be a few parity issues, should also spice things up.

It is a shame then that the DTM cars (http://www.dtm.com/en/Fahrzeug/AMG-Mercedes-C-Coupe.html) cannot race here. It would be nice to see the AUDI A5 (http://www.dtm.com/en/Fahrzeug/Audi-A5-DTM.html), BMW M3 (http://www.dtm.com/en/Fahrzeug/BMW-M3-DTM.html) and MB coupé :)
