Well Gordon at Opposite Lock South fitted my OL bar and a Tigerz11 12,000 lb winch with plasma rope last week.

I am happy with the result. My wife and daughter tought it was ugly when they first saw it but it is growing on them now. I had it colour coded to the vehicle and so far have experienced no noticeable difference to the cars handling once fitted.

Tossing up if i need a set ot driving lights ? and planning to purchase an awning before a Christmas trip in the High country.

I went the OL bar because it was slightly cheaper ($100-$150) but mostly because it was readily available, 2.5 weeks from order to fitting. ARB were suggesting nearly 1.5 months.

I also had him installed a Milford cargo barrier at the same time.

The winch cast circa $650 and I have spooled and unspooled it a few times and it seems to work fine. As this is my first winch I have noticed when winding out the rope the free spool is very heavy, almost too heavy to pull, I really need to reverse the winch to pull out the line. Anyone else with a Tigerz11 experience this ?

Regards,

George

P.S apparently this is the same bar they fit to the D4 as well.

Yep same bar, although if you speak to ARB, their D3 bar is supposed to be differant to the D4 bar:eek:

Sin rope can be hard to free spool out, I think it's because it needs to be wound in tighter than steel rope and as a result it can be a bit tight when unspooling.

Looks good by the way.

Is it missing the rubber in fills under the head lights ?

Drivers side looks like they would fit, but not under passenger side...may be just the pic playing tricks.

Looks good.

The D3 doesn't need them, the headlights come down lower as they are larger than the D4 headlights, so no gap.

An optical alluation, I'd say.

Brett,

Interestingly there is a series of holes under the lights and when I asked Gordon what they were for he advised they were for the D4 inserts that fit under the lights, not needed on the D3.

There are a few small gaps that I might get around to filling with some automotive rubber strips, which is what I believe a a few have done previously but nothing too unsightly.

Overall as I said I am happy with the result.
