Hi All,
I've read of people having issues with their EAS compressor. I recently read a post, which I can't find, discussing an identified alternate, but I think it was an owner looking at purchasing the item themselves. I can't remember for sure but it was a short acronym type name.
I just got my D4 back from a service and was informed that there was a Service Action ((Q213) required. This was to replace the compressor with a new AMK item. Is this the one that was identified by the forum member I wonder?
I'm certain LR said something about them replacing the relay or solenoid too.
I wasn't having any EAS issues, so hopefully it stays that way.

Celtoid,
This is the newest version & replaces the Hitachi unit.
You are correct in saying the relay & fuse also gets replaced as it works better than the old unit.
Reason why they replaced it is because the factory in Japan no longer exists due to the Tsunami.

Mine doesn't seem to be any noisier and it doesn't seem to raise the vehicle any quicker than the 1st replacement when it was new (the original was slow from day 1), although I have no feel for how quickly it fills the reservoir nor how well it performs if used repeatedly.

I'm certain it's a bit noisier.

AMK unit is definitely noisier (but not deafening). I can go from access to normal to offroad to extended (using Llams) with a some delay towards the end but no compressor overheating warning. This was a test. I wouldn't usually stress the compressor like this.
