From my readings elsewhere it appears that there is a 'mountain like icon' in the lower panel of the tacho that should illuminate when low range is selected.

I can see the outline of the icon when looking hard but it does not illuminate.

Does anyone have the low range indicator illuminate in Australia?

My 2007 Puma doesn't have a indicator, it just goes slower :) Fairly easy to tell your on low.

Same here mate.

2008 model just has the CDL indicator - and you'll know whether you're in high or low range.

Read somewhere that the MY12 shares the dash with the LR freelander, but is not wired for the 'low range' light. My certainly has never lit up.

Nope... No low-range indication light on the Defender. Frankly, you'd have to be a pretty 'special' kind of driver not to notice you're in low-range. :D

PS... Freelander doesn't have low-range. ;)
