As one does, I have been poring over the new 130 and in the process I have found a couple of issues. One issue is that the main engine loom has been incorrectly routed where it goes past the heater tap, it has been tucked under one of the hoses that it should obviously go over, the result being the loom has been rubbing on the rear engine lifting lug and the conduit has rubbed right through, if it had gone much longer it would have rubbed through the wires themselves and shorted something major and all the smoke would have escaped from the loom. The loom has also been rubbing on the underside of the heater hose and the hose will need to be replaced at the next service.
Either the loom or the hose needs to be disconnected in order to put the thing back where it should go. Obviously, removing the hose will result in loss of coolant and mess, so I would prefer to disconnect the loom from the ECU, thread it through the correct way and reconnect it.
Will I cause any problems by disconnecting this loom from the ECU for a few minutes? Does the battery need to be disconnected before i do this? The ECU to which i refer is the one mounted to the firewall directly behind the engine cylinder head.
