For those looking to extent the antenna on the Puma, I just did mine as follows

First I removed the speaker.

I was lucky to find the orange with grey antenna wire at an accessible distance.

I then ran aprox 1 mtr of trace wire back from the dash where it meets the door pillar with a large cable tie

I soldered a black wire (the trace) to the existing Orange antenna wire and insulated it with a little heat shrink.

I removed the plastic cover on the window pillar and I then taped the wire to the existing cables running up the pillar.

I then ran the excess wire along the top of the door frame under the rubber seal.

The result is amazing 17mtr no probs this is the length of the driveway.

Took about 15 min, brilliant result.

"I was lucky to find the orange with grey antenna wire ..."
How did you know to look for that wire?
Have you got a full wiring diagram? Or did you follow it from somewhere?
Thanks,
John.

I put my tongue on each wire and hit the remote button until I got zapped [tonguewink]

Just kidding there was talk about the Orange and grey wire in another thread.

Did mine (2004 TD5) yesterday but I have an aftermarket alarm and imobiliser (in addition to the factory fitted) that acts as the primary system, the range on this was ~10cm. Probably because that's how long the antennae was.

I extended about 2m with some old ~3mm cable that was kicking around and ran it up th eA pillar and into the roof lining. It has definately improved (about 3-5m now) but I dream of the 10m+ people have been quoting!

The reception is also very asymetric with pick up a lot better on the drivers side, any thought son conecting to the FM aerial? or putting a full loop of cable into the perimiter of the roof lining?

Cheers

John
