Hi all,

just had my D3 serviced by the local mechanic who normally does a good job. 120k service and he mentioned two items that I wanted to research more. He said the front diff was "sweating" which I assume means some moisture from in the diff escaping???
Also mentioned that there was a bit of oil around the inlet connection from the turbo to manifold. He was more concerned at this. The beast has always been well serviced but takes the occasional unavoidable ocean drink when beach launching a boat.

His parting comment was that I should think about moving the car on as it is around this time that problems start. I love my Fatboy and want to keep it as long as possible.
Any advice on the diff and turbo oil much appreciated. Simple explanationations preferred!!

Early D3s had issues with leaking diff seals. Coting on the inside of the diffs reacted with the diff oil and caused them to leak. Also therte was an issue with the diff breahers causing the diffs to pressurise and leak. I would check the diff breather valve or replace with an after market one.

Not sure about the oil leak a photo would help but oil leaks from the hoses to and from the intercooler are common and just need the hose clip tightened.

Sweating diff is normal, I wouldn't worry about it until it was properly leaking. Worst case scenario for a sweat one of the side seals is worn and needs replacing, it's not a massive job.

Turbos leak all the time, not sure what the exact cause is but I see leaking turbos on a day to day basis and none of them have carked it yet, when I report a leaky turbo nothing ever gets done, it's a sheep be right and we send it out. So I probably wouldn't worry too much about either issue. But please feel free to investigate it further as I have not seen the vehicle I could be completely wrong.
