Hi all,
I'm after a bullbar for my puma and bid on ebay for this item eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200847725936&ssPageName=ADME:B:BCA:AU:3160)

But the item is from a 94 defender, anyone knows if it fits to my09 defenders?

Thanks

Wei

The correct 1994 bar was closer to the front of the vehicle, and will not fit the puma with its extended grille. however, that pic looks like an extended nose bar to me,the mounting channels are quite long....if it is, it will fit the puma.

:Dthank you, Justin. If this is a correct 94 bar, is it possible to replace the stock grill with an aftermarket one to make the bar fit?

no, the longer extended grille is for the airconditioning condenser. like i said i reckon looking at the pics it is an extended aircon grille compatible bar. if you can get him to measure from the side mounting holes to the front face of the bar channel, i can let you know if it is right as i have one on my 110

Hi Wei,
I'm leaving shortly to drive down to pick up a new ARB bull bar for my 2009 Puma. I'll get there late morning. I'll take a tape measure with me and if you need any measurements call me on 0407 699620.
The bull bar, winch and driving lights you are looking to bid on look like a very good deal if the bar fits, and you are near enough to pick it up. Good luck with it.

Thank you, Hayden.
Which ARB bar are you going to fit?

I think the new ARB bullbar design is quite different from the one I'm looking at. I went through the fitting instruction pdf @ http://www.arb.com.au/media/products/3432300-16-26-366/ARB_3432300_fitting.pdf. If I'm not wrong it's not directly fitted to the chassis but via a pair of brackets.

ARB make a new design/ shape bar, it is absolutely a disaster IMO because it is TOO close to the vehicle. The early design/ shape like you are bidding on is the best IMO.

Do you still want those measurements?

What's the measurement of yours?

The seller replied he doesn't understand what I'm asking him to do, and asked me to call ARB to figure out whether the bar fits a puma. But I couldn't find the part number in the item description.

Even worse to me, the bid is over and I'm the only bidder, it seems I'm obliged to buy the item no matter if it fits.:(

The dimension you are after is 330mm, from the lower bolt in this pic to the weld at the furthest end visible inside edge of channel.53555

Hi Wei,
I was late home yesterday with my new ARB bullbar which is described in their brochure as "ARB Defender deluxe bullbar". No sign of a part number anywhere I'm afraid.
I'm glad JC was able to help you yesterday and that you didn't need me to measure anything. It was packaged in a huge box and when I was able to open that after getting home, it was wrapped like a fragile Christmas present inside. Took quite a bit of unwrapping. And it is heavy to handle!
And yes, there are mounting brackets in the box of fitting bits.
JC certainly went to considerable effort to get you on the right track. I hope I don't have a problem with my new bullbar mounting too close as he warns. That was the problem with my old one after I hit another car recently!
Good luck with your purchase Wei, and keep up the great work helping forum members JC.
