Haven't been on here for a while, but thought I post a recent "issue" with my 09 Puma. Was just into my first 500km on a drive from Sydney to FNQ to watch the eclipse when I started to notice a weird whistling noise, initially just going up hills under full power. Quickly developed into something that sounded like a vacuum cleaner intake. Slight loss of power was apparent also.
Pulled into Tenterfield and called the NRMA, which just happened to be across the road. They had a quick look and thought it might be some turbo/exhaust manifold leak, but gave me the green light to go on to Brisbane, where as luck would have it I was planning to stay for a couple of days anyway.
Noise got progressively worse, and going up to Cunningham Gap she sounded like a steam engine, and pulled about as well too. Went into limp mode a couple of times too.
Finally made it to Brisbane and rang MR, but they couldn't give me a booking for a couple of weeks. They did however refer me to a former employee, Dom, who now runs his own shop, Accurate Automotive, in Kippa-Ring.
Took us about half an hour to figure out where the source of the leak was, since it was at the most inaccessible spot in the engine bay. The right turbo intake hose actually sits on the stearing arm, and pulling it out we saw this:

You can actually see the indentation the bolt on the steering arm has made in the hose. Dom reckons the hose itself actually had a structural fault as well.
Anyhoo, he replaced both intake hoses with silicone ones, gave the vehicle a good look over for any other likely problems and sent me on my way. 6000 km later, I'm now back home, with a fabulous eclipse experience under my belt.
Thanks to Dom at Accurate Automotive (and MR for being good enough to refer me to him) ... I thoroughly recommended Dom if you need anything done to your Landie in Brissy
