Hi All,
Just wondering if you guys drop your tyre pressures in the sand?
I know it's common practice with large tyres but wasn't sure if you need to with the low profiles and trac control.
Thanks guys,
Jimmy.

You definitely need to drop for sand.
Lowest I have been is 12psi (started at 16 for the run down) on the factory 19's to climb callcup near Pemberton in WA. 50-60kph but mostly straight up.
Back on the main track I watched the tyre go over a tree root....promptly hopped out an reinflated as the rim almost touched the root, and this was at very slow speed.

Thanks Brett, my mate just bought a D4 and I wasn't sure if would have to drop them. In all the videos I've watched on the new Discos all seem to be running normal tyre pressures but I guess it's probably hard to tell. I'm keen to see how it goes on the beach up the coast this year.
Thanks again,
Jimmy

Jimmy, show him this article by rmp. It gives a full overview of how to approach sand driving with a D3/D4/RRS:

Awesome article, thanks Sean! I'll save it for myself when i eventually get my RRS! Unfortunately my landcruiser doesn't have quite so many options!
