View Full Version : Exhaust paints

I've spent the weekend building the back half of the exhaust system on my County. Not stainless - just normal mild steel exhaust tube.

I used VHT Flameproof paint on the dump pipe and front section and its holding up really well - only a couple of rust spots after 18 months - but to cure it properly you have to heat and cool it a few times getting increasingly hotter each time. I really cant be bothered with that if there's something else that I can just paint on and forget.

Any recommendation for paint/coating to use on the outside that will slow down the inevitable corrosion a bit?

Steve

PPC • Restoration Specialists • Heat Paints (http://ppcco.com.au/paints.htm)
The silver heat paint I used on used extractors and didn't start/heat for 6 months held up well. And you can brush on or spray if equipped.

Thanks for that - I keep forgetting about the POR15 stuff.
