The Ultra-Guage in my defender said intake temp was 45deg when I pulled into the drive, I normally drop 3 off that to get a realistic temp. All that work getting the pool ready for summer has finally paid off.. on my fourth swim today already.

Its 38 in the shade in the carport, according to the gauge on the camper trailer fridge.
Story in the Courier Mail today said it was 61 degrees on the concrete pavers in the King George Square in Brisbane City today!
That's the space where they replaced grass and shrubs with concrete - and they wonder why the public has shunned it and thinks the Brissie City Council wasted its $27 million. ;)

Currently 36C and sticky over here on the east African coast...Here in Pemba, northern Mozambique, I am at about the same latitude as Weipa on Cape York. The wet has yet to hit us.
The most dramatic weather variance I have ever experienced though, was in Tarin Kowt, Oruzgan, Afghanistan.
We had a calibrated NATO weather station on site and during the winter, the lowest recorded was -20C. But then, in summer......we used to experience a period of about 2mths when, every day, the temperature rose above 46-48C. With the highest recorded, during my 3yrs there...52C! and remember, that temperature was recorded in the shaded confines of the weather station....just imagine what it was like in the open sun. You needed gloves to pick up anything metal that had been lying in the sun.

Just like Western Queensland. Weeks on end when the temp never fell below 40 even overnight. Everything inside the house warm to the touch even stuff that had never felt sunlight. When we went out to one of our trucks broken down roadside, one always took a beach umbrella to put over the tool boxes or you wouldn't be able to pick up a spanner after 5-10 minutes in the sun.
