Stacking and racking at Brisbane airport.

The last 4 flights I have been on back into Brisbane have Been stacked and racked. Last one was for an hour and a half from Sydney. We were flying round in circles around Brisbane longer than the flight took from Sydney.

Getting worse and something that needs to be sorted.

Two UFOs Chucky, too high for me to identify.

I'm assuming they're FA 18s rather than C 17s. :p

I reckon flying into Mascot they land in Coffs and taxi the rest of the way. You seem to spend more time on the tarmac than in the air.

You picked it Reads and I thought you were being facetious. I saw it on the news, sorry for doubting you. ;)

No it wasn't Blknight's mob - they aren't that neat!

It was just us civvies......running out of space on the Brissie runways. (Helluva lot more than 4 though Reads!)

It happens every day, you just dont get to see it until the contrails appear.

(or until your on a flight and notice the seat belt sign on early!)

Unfortunately to sort it takes more bitumen.

You think about it. It takes about 1 minute to land, pull up and taxy off.
Leave yourself a bit of room for the next guy and you can squeeze one every 2 minutes.(90 seconds if you push it) (More if you have a heavy wake turbulence issue) Hey thats 30 an hour.....

What's that you say....some need to take-off as well.......damn...better leave a bit more space

Problem is the airlines schedule more arrivals than physically possible to land.

Mmmmm, so if you are landing 20 an hour and 30 turn up.

10 need to wait for the next hour.

Simple eh?

Stack 'em and rack 'em.

only 20 an hour....

quiet day for you guys....

I've seen that many aircraft go off of an airstrip in under 5 minutes....

of course I've also seen them not be able to beat one an hour.

Sleepy, you must work for Airservices, I know a bloke that works there, Giles used to fly model airplanes with him, probably keeps his eye in.
I suppose you have all had a laugh at the movie Pushing Tin

I was on my way to airport to collect my wife, coming up from Sydney, when I saw this and wondered if I'd be waiting. Only 25 minutes late so I suppose I was lucky.
