I'm replacing a HCPU tub with an aluminium tray and I need to pickup some tail lights to suit.

I've found some on eBay that have the round defender 'look' that I like.

Twin tails lights: 12V 305x170mm 1 Pair 38 LED lights 020 Tail Light for Ute Trailer Truck Caravan | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12V-305x170mm-1-Pair-38-LED-lights-020-Tail-Light-Ute-Trailer-Truck-Caravan-/230888915120)

With single reverse lamp: eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e12052.m43.l1123/7?euid=abb84f2883c5402db3032f2e060d0006&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com.au%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI. dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D221161276447%26ssPageName% 3DADME%3AX%3AeRTM%3AAU%3A1123)

I'm concerned that the reverse light might be too bright - is there legal limit to reversing lights?

lots of people have similar flood lights as reverse lights (including me, although I still have the original reverse lights)

not one have I heard about them being a problem.

But I guess that doesn't mean it's legal.

at the end of the day it's only a flood pattern so shouldn't burn peoples eyes out.

you might be able to get away with only one though but I guess that depends on where you mount them.

yes there is an ADR for reversing lights as I found when I got some LED 1s. Some had ADR approved and others did not, having said that the ADR 1s are really bright. It appears ADR 1/100 applies

A cost saving measure would be to buy the Repco trailer LED clusters currently on discount and fit them to your rear c/m and add a single rev light.

Thanks for the link, Looks like the reverse light I quoted would be a atd too bright - I found a 18W version and will give that a go.

I tried search for these, do you have a link by any chance?

I use the standard round lights. Original reverse was on one side, and the red fog on the other. So I bought another matching reverse light and monted it where the original fog light was. I then put the fog centre of arrangemnt. The two reverse lights give plenty of light for reversing. If I need work lights I just put the diff lock in neutral. Nice and simple.
