hey everyone,
i have a 1994 110 defender and have just fitted a new terrafirma 2inch lift kit, the ride is great and flexes well but i noticed today that the front left sits 30mm higher then the front right, I've checked that the coils are seated properly and that they are on the right side but I'm not sure what else to check
i assume this isn't normal for new suspension?

Sounds like You may have fitted the driver’s side coils on the passenger’s side, although you say you have checked it I would have another look, thought it does sound like allot of difference. From what I have learnt, best way to be 100% is to measure from the bump stops.

I would have said they were not seated properly, but since you have checked that its eliminated.

So the drivers side theory is next, from memory the drivers side springs are normally taller. Well that was the case when I did the Patrol many moons ago.

be interesting to know if they are handed...I know land rover springs are handed but many third party Kit type setups aren't for instance I know that Brittpart springs arent handed., as Ihave them in my disco

The springs are definately on the right sides and yes generally driver side will be about 5mm higher cause of driver, bit of a weird one

The T.F. springs we fitted to our 90 were definitely handed and were obviously of different lengths. We fitted the medium load plus 2 inch springs.

Aye,
The ones I fitted to my 1999 TD5 were handed.

same terrafirma kit on my 90, similar problem with the rear left higher than right. The only thing you can do is try them the other way around and if that doesn't even it out use a poly spacer or one of the rubber isolators found on discovery
