Gday all
I was all ready to buy some 10inch 6100 series Bilstein shocks from eshocks.com today for the D2 but i am worried about the rates i have chosen. I dont want it to pitch and roll too much from weight transfer but dont want it to firm.
I was looking to use 360/80 rates all round as i have a steel bull bar out front.(No winch yet:() With rear draw set and soon to be custom steel rear bar out back.
At the moment i dont get away as often as i would like (who does?) and use it as a daily driver. I am concerned that this rate may be a bit harsh for everyday use.I use 235/70/16 for highway and 265/75/16 for off road.
Does someone have this combo shocks fitted to their rig and if so what do you think about the 360/80 rate? I am tossing up going one step down to 275/78

Need to order soon. Current shocks are stuffed.
thanks

Contrary to going down, I'm sure I have read that higher rates are required with bar work.....but don't quote me on that......

Also, you might get a better response with this posted in the d2 section rather than here in general chat....

360/80 in the back end is nice if moderately loaded. (And occasional heavy loading)

275/78 up front will be just nice.. Works sweet with Bar work, winch etc..

I have the 7100's as we spoke about and run 360/80(R) 275/78(F) and the handling is superb.

Hi Todd
I had them in my RRC with bar and winch on the front for about six months now. I went with 360/80 front and 400/100 rear both in 10" length and both sets with the remote reservoirs. They have been great and not too harsh, mine is set up as a tourer. I would recommend that you get them with polly bushes rather than the Heim joints as these seem to flog out fairly quickly and start making clicking noises. I got mine + the bushes from GBR at a similar price to eShocks, I think about $180 each. I also have 2" raised front shock turrets and raised rear mounts from Rover Tyme Fabrications with extended bump stops. I have stuffed around with shocks on the car for many years (Konis in different lengths, gas and non gas) and I think that the current setup is the best its ever been.
