Ok I just got the traxide kit. It's great and it's got brilliant instructions and I'm sure it's easy... But I don't have the electrical brain for this....
Could someone please fit this for me by Friday this week. Or at least put me in contact with someone who could

you don't need an electrical brain, just follow the instructions, it's as easy as lego. the most difficult part is routing the cables, as long as you can do that you'll be fine.

Exactly,i hate working on cars these days, but did it easily.Yes you may need a hand getting the cables through the firewall, but the rest is easy.Just watch the clips on some of the plastic trims.
The instructions are great.

It sounds like it is reasonably easy but I am so bloody useless, I nearly screwed up putting on the roof rack...
I think I'll give it a go....

Yes, and I'm not having mine done at a dealer, I doubt they would fit a customer supplied kit, I am using an Independant Land Rover specialist.

Hi herrBlick, the fitting of these kits is more like doing a plumbing job, they are not at all like an electrical job.
You don’t even need a multi meter, is pretty well plug-n-play and the best part is that the D4, D4 and RRS are the easiest vehicles I have ever come across to run cables through.
And one additional benefit with fitting one of my kits, I’m just a phone call away if you get stuck.

Ok mate ill give it a go tomorrow night....I have one question drivesafe.
What kind of sealant do I need and do the seats move manually ?

Hi herrBlick and you don’t need any sealant and what do you mean by “do the seats move manually”?

Well if the the main battery is disconnected whilst installation how will they move ? As per
"
Pre Installation requirements. If you have just turned your Ignition off, make sure the Park Brake is applied and the key is removed from the ignition.
Pull the bonnet release and open the bonnet.
Remove both Battery Compartment covers. This is done by first releasing the 2 tabs at the front of both covers and then lift the front edge of the covers and then twisting and remove the covers.
Now, go back to the cab and check that the Park Brake Light is out. This is important, while the Park Brake Light is on, the vehicle’s computers are still going through their Shutdown routines and these Shutdown routines MUST BE COMPLETED before you work on any electrical components on
this vehicle."
Does this mean the car is now powerless

Hi HerrBlick, and thats a good observation.
Once the Park Brake light goes out, your computer has shutdown properly.
You can safely turn the ignition on when you need to move the seat forward and backwards as needed, but don’t put you foot on the break, this will make sure the motor does not start and you can then.
I must put that into future instructions.
You just reminded me, there is another change to the installation that is not in the instruction.
The rear mounted in-line fuse holders are now pre-assembled and will make the installation much easier and a lot quick. You will understand this when you go to fit the in-line fuse holders.

Hi Mike and as funny as that is, I use to manufacture wireless remote controlled home security systems and I also fitted a few.
You have no idea how many times people would ring at all hours of the night because their remote’s battery had gone flat and they couldn’t remember where they hid the manual override key.
The best late night call I ever got was from a bloke trying to turn his car alarm off.
After a few calls, he finally realised he was trying to open someone else's car.
Don't know how many drinks he had had?

STOP PANICKING.
HerrPanic, you are in for a big surprise.
This is a great vehicle to work on and you will have no problems.
Oh by the way, I am changing my phone number.
Seriously, if you are not sure about any part of the installation while you are doing it, phone me.
