Left hand blend motor shotcut method.

For anyone contemplating the job of left hand blend motor, I came across this great shortcut method by Ian H Frazer, that does not require cutting the duct in half.
Great photos too, well worth a look if you are going to do this job.

time is money. i cut a special way, and reassemble/ reseal after. airflow isn't changed, no leaks and looks good if you could be bovvered pulling things apart to see :)

I FINALLY got around to doing my passenger side blend motor today, using the method above.
Worked a treat! Most of the flexing of the duct is done at the join near the hand brake, where the rear duct connects with the front duct.
A bit of pushing and pulling and it came apart much more easily than I expected.
Got in there with my long screw driver and had the old blend motor out pretty quickly.
Got the new one in position, spliced the wires and did up the screws.
Did not have to cut anything, the hard bit was getting the glove box back working properly.
Strarted it up and the book symbol is gone, very nice to see!
I have done quite a few jobs on my Rangie lately, but this one has given me the most satisfaction so far, the book symbol has been there for ages, nice to be rid of it at last.
