I just lost my virginity with computer gremlins . Ive had this 95 hse 4.5 for 6 months with no elec problems until now! I'd have to wonder about timing with the warmer weather? Two things aren't right 1. Mirrors self adjust which would be ok if it was to the right position, usually just after start up. 2 Front door and both tailgate doors don't lock with the front door button popping up after other doors lock ok. Is this type of thing repairable. Any suggestions much appreciated

Bruce, are you using just one key fob to unlock or are you using alternate fobs? The mirrors, seat and dimmer on the dash are all related to the individual fob giving you and your (wife?) their individual seat, mirror and dash settings. As for the locks, maybe also related ?????

The popping door lock may be caused by a worn latch... there's a fair bit of info here and also on rangerovers.net on errant door locks;)

only using one handset but did disconnect battery to swap for a new one
(tried connecting to 3rd batt with jumper leads but stuffed it as had to reset windows and sun roof). Ill wade through suggested info as its important to learn how ones trusty steed works. Thanks everyone for help.

I waded through suggested information re p38 door lock problems and found out about resyncing ( my handbook has 8 pages missing, guess which ones !) Followed resyncing procedure and low and behold it worked ! All locks are ok and mirrors seem steady. I think a lot of people get scared of these fine vehicles because there afraid of the niggly little problems associated with them. Show me a 17 year old toyota or nissan that doesn't have similar probs, thats if they haven't rusted away. Or show me a 17 y/o toy/niss that still turns heads and drives like a giant sports car. Thanks everyone for support and good luck to you all
