Last night the better-half came out and said to me the element in the stove was not working. I checked it out and found the element blown but the fan was ok. So today I tracked a new element down and promptly fitted it. Switched on and checked fan and element and both worked perfectly. An hour later I went to heat up some lunch and switched on the stove and walked away. Suddenly there was a blinding flash and the brand new element self destructed. Why? Because the darn fan gave up and the element overheated. Now I am on the scrounge for a new oven before Christmas day.

element will still be under warranty
fan only pushes heat through out the whole oven
wont burn out if the fan is not working

Thanks Hans. Just rang the outlet and he is checking with supplier. Certainly cheaper than new stove. Jim:D:D

Followup. The supplier is going to replace the element free tomorrow. He thinks? it might have been faulty Jim:p

all replaced element should have a 12 months warranty on parts only
