Here's the beast 125 km on the clock from the trip home. Popped into anaconda on the way home and completely missed the car park I was going for, only by half a car width :p but love it to bits already. Can't wait till the 30th Calidonia river track Wonnangatta then Billy Goats Bluff :D. Should I be alternating the revs for a bit for the break in?

Nice!
These days you do not need to take things gently when running in.
The advise I was given by many people, as well as the forums, defender2.net, was "Drive it like you stole it"
No problems, as far as I know.
Do keep an eye on the hoses though, especially the intercooler hoses.

I was just about to update my photo to the defender. I've had the RR since I was 18. been on most of my fourby trips and its cost me next to nothing, it was pretty much unstoppable. It's in my yard now with a tarp over it waiting for me to build a shed so I can strip it down rebuild and restore. Love the beast. The afender (as the kids call it) is very cool and I hope I get a good run out of it and I'm sure it will give me with great times with the fam as the RR did.

Congratulations on the purchase and I hope it looks after you. It seems there is getting a few of us with new deefers on the forum. I also scratched a rim but no blow out yet.

About these intercooler hoses, I have looked a plenty and have not been able to find where they potentially rub. Might have changed things in MY12??
