Strange Error/Warning Message??

Hey guys, in my D4 as Im starting it a large white exclamation mark in a triangle flashes up on the whole screen with something written under it but its so fast I cant ever read it. Also it happens randomly so I cant really preempt it.

Anyone know what it is or seen it? lol.

No issues with the vehicle and no other errors being reported.

I have no idea what this means and have not seen the symbol. Which screen does it appear on? The one in front of the driver or the one with the entertainment system etc.

Hey Fred, the screen in front of the driver.

Its essentially the generic warning symbol.

Have you tried pressing Ok on the rhs toggle on the steering wheel, then Ok again to show error messages ?

Doesn't that triangle appear when you press the start button but not put your foot on the brake yet? In which case it reminds you to do the latter to start the engine.

I have been able to get the symbol to appear by trying to start the car when the key is not present. The message says to check the key and/or read the manual.

Perhaps in your situation the key is being detected after you have pressed the start button. From there I might suggest the key battery could be low on charge, but I stress I am guessing.

discotwinturbo, no havent tried that although i thought that option was just to turn error messages on or off ie. report them on screen? will give it a go.

Tried the no key thing but its not the same image I see flash up.
When there is no key detected the whole screen shows the warning sign with the message but the one I see is a much larger warning sign and both the fuel and temp indicators are still present at the time.

Yup did that but it never showed lol. tried over 10 starts.

The large white triangle with the exclamation mark is a warning symbol for low-level stuff - ignition is on, door is open, steering lock, key in range etc. So not a major issue - I'm confused as to how it's only there for an instant? Maybe it's just a system check?

You should be able to cycle through the warnings with the indicator stalk and see whatever is still active. But if it's not an active warning at that point, it won't show.
