Has anyone else noticed that sometimes when you come back to your car in a Multi Story, Mall, Play Park, Beach anywhere ... That a Disco 1 or 2 or Defender, Range Rover has parked next to you?
It never seems to be a D3 or D4.. Hmmmm
However, I found myself the other day parking next to D2 purposefully.....

Me too, ..... it's a bit like an addiction. Do they have Land Rover anonymous ? Not that I need it, of course, but I know someone who does. Bob

Sad I know but I do it too. I justify it to the misses saying that I trust that the landy driver is more unlikely to damage my vehicle when they leave.

All the D3's and D4's in my area seem occupied by Soccer Mums who don't seem to care...
That said, you watch I'll get a D3 next to me soon :-)

Here on the gold coast , you will
Get defenders and d1/2 parking next to you, the odd d3, forget rrs rr and d4 there's hundreds of then
Around here and 99% of these don't know a defender from a jeep.
They Are mostly driven by yummy mummy's who like driving a rrs or d4 to get one over the people next door, or on the social scene .
Next year it will
Be what ever is in.

Trust me my D3 is no soccer mums car, and you will find most people on this site who own D3/D4's push them to their limits, the perception you put out there is just as bad as all LR's are unreliable pieces of crap

Hummm,, me too,,
I always do it, and SWMBO is getting better by the day at spotting :D
On the drive up from Melb to Albury this arvo,, we're driving both cars up, she gives me a call on the phone saying/asking "did you see the Defer going the other way?". I didn't, I had scrub in the way, but I was impressed :D

if not next to then near by so they can swap stories
Mrs Hay Ewe also has a game where points are awarded for disco's
1 point for a disco
extra point if it has a snorkle
extra point if it is a red one (dont know why red because we have silver)

Yep, I'm guilty of that too, I also try to drive behind or in front of them on the road, especially if it's a defender, makes it look like we're in convoy.

Always spotting "landies" with the youngest of the brood, SWMBO just doesn't get it and the horrified look when you actually wave is gold.

Seems to happen all over the world. I do it all the time and once back in my hometown there was a defender next to my series IIA whose owner left me a business card from a new spare parts dealer!!

We should invent a new game of Land Rover tag and picture when we park LOL.

Hi all, I am new to the forum, just starting to read topics..., but browsing this thread and I just had to reply...not strictly on topic but almost...:D
Was at work a year or so ago..my D2 parked in its usual spot under the building. Come lunchtime, I go for walk down the shop, about 100 metres. Get to the car park of the supermarket, see my car just being driven away by an older chap...panic attack...reach for phone to call the cops...then notice the number plate is exactly the same, except for the last digit...which was a 6, instead of an 8. Exactly the same car...a Classic.., same gold colour, same wheels, same spare wheel cover...same tyres. What are the chances of seeing an identical car with an almost identical rego plate in the same place?
I keep an eye out for it now...if I ever see it again in the same car park, I will go get mine and park it next to it...and wait to see the look on the owners face when he comes to get it...lol...
Cheers,
Chris
