Hi,

The clutch pedal of my def. V8 1991 is too high to release, it is only 1 inch before i completly take off my foot , so it becomes difficult to balance and to drive as well as moving between gears .
i also notice that the clutch oil gets low from time to time about 5 months ! Any idea there is no visible oil leaking around the master .

the clutch fluid is getting out past the slave and the you need to shift the adjustment on the clutch MC Pushrod.

To access it undo the 6 screws that hold the cover plate down on the pedal tower, winding the nuts towards the MC lowers the action on the pedal. Once you've got the pedal at the point where you're happy with the engagement adjust the pedal stop so that when the pedal is pulled back all the way by the return spring the pushrod is just loose. Too much free play and you can pull the rod out of the MC, sometimes this will take out the circlip which then lets the piston out of the bore.

I have a custom ground and cut ring spanner to deal with the nuts and use a pair of needle nose vice grips to grab the rod to stop it from spinning.
