Anyone here on this stuff? I have just increased mine to 25mg/week on specialists orders and now I have anxiety with palpatations, nausea on the day I take it and an upset stomach with dire consequences. Otherwise everything is fine. At least I am able to reduce my prednisone to 8.5 mg/day

This is a highly toxic drug. You should always discuss complications with your specialist or at the very least your GP.
Also trust the doc reviewed you for any gastric or bowel conditions before dosing. Are you taking folic acid or calcium folinate suppliments through the week, they may help with your GI symptoms - again talk to your doc before including them.
Do you have the full drug info? If not I can download it and send to you, ideally with the specific drug protocol for your disorder..

Do a search on the topic, it was covered on this site about 6 month to a year ago with lots of replies.
As said above folic acid help reduce the Nuasea. It's good to hear from other people that have been through it but more important to discuss and follow up with your Doctor.
My sons Arthritis is settling down for the moment so I'm very happy he is being weened off the stuff.

Thanks all. Yes I do take folate but have been advised not to take it on the day I take MTX as there is a slight clash between them. Just been up to my chemist and got some antinausea pills. Feeling a lot better. Even better still, as I was driving home someone had put a now not needed Celestron telescope and stand on the footpath. A fairly big unit and it works fine. Now has a new home. All my doctors are closed till after Christmas. Jim:D:D:D

The advice about missing the day of med is correct, the "slight clash" comment made me smile. :) methotrexate works by Inhibiting DNA synthesis and cell replication by competitively inhibiting the conversion of folic acid to folinic acid
Just reminding you, if the palpitations turn out to be breathlessness and your doc is away go to the emergency department and get checked over. 9am-11am is often the best time to go and be seen in the least time.
Hope you feel better over the holiday period.
